Restoration Thoughts

Red Stained Finish
Red stained finish with raised grain.

With the exception of the red color being closer to brown in this picture, this is what I’m going for with my restoration.  I want shells exposed with the grain raised, stained candy apple red with a clear coat finish.

I’ve trolled YouTube for some examples for what I’m interested in doing.  Here’s a guy doing a the work.  It’s a more elaborate finish but the techniques he’s using show what I’ll be attempting to do.
